Day 4- We got some sleep!

So, besides the fact that Landen is still doing great, I think the best update I can give today is that Ashley and I got some much needed sleep last night and a nap today!  It was absolutely needed and we are so glad we had it. :)

Even though visits are a little tough right now, we did manage a couple of great visits with close friends and family.  Our great friends Kristen and Jon came up early this morning for some time to see us, and they even got some time with Landen :)

Skip and Lori also braved the commute once again to get the girls up here and had some time of their own with Landen even if it was short.  I cannot imagine doing this without their help and the help of my parents!  Our girls have really had a loving support during all of our trips up here and now with both Mommy and Daddy gone.  Ashley and I are just so proud of the girls.  They are processing all of this so well!  They are enjoying their little brother for every moment they get but letting go when they need to as well.  It is hard for Ashley and I to be away from both our girls and Landen, but that time is shortly coming to an end as we will be with either one or the other, so here is to staying positive!

Tomorrow is Ashley's scheduled discharge day.  This will be a hard day, but a great day at the same time!  Ashley and I will get to have time in our own house, with our girls.  We will probably have a movie night and enjoy the fact that they have Monday off.  But it will be hard because we know that our son will be here.  We know he is in the best hands, and we have NO worries about his safety here, yet we can't help but feel disconnected from him.  There really is no way to help put that feeling away.  Ashley will need the time to recover in her own bed for at least a couple nights, and I will probably stay up here with Landen, then we will make a switch once she is comfortable.  Of course we will be here EVERY day for as long as Ashley can stand it physically, but hopefully this schedule won't need to go on for long.  We will work out the details, but these next couple days will pose new challenges, but also renewed blessings as we get to connect with the girls again :)

Remember to pray for the three big buckets :) We are hoping that his PDA closes, his ASD opens and his pulmonary artery restricts appropriately based on those other two!  And of course, please add a smooth transition to a life of travel to Boston to see him.

For those who really wish they could come up, but have not.  Please don't feel bad.  To be honest, we really can't have a ton of visitors up here and we would/have needed to say no to many.  We will have many opportunities to physically share him in the coming months.  Hopefully that time is at our house, or even better at the beach or at a pool this summer :)

Enjoying the journey (especially in the small victories),
George, Ashley, Madison, Lyla and Landen
