Day 1 Post Opperation

Good morning all!  Landen is doing well.  His numbers are all doing ok, just slower than I think they were hoping.  Honestly there are to many numbers to fill you all in on so I won't.  The bottom line is that Landen could be extubated tomorrow (pull his breathing tube) but they don't know yet.  Landen is healthy considering but the PA band procedure is one of the most complex surgeries to monitor post-Opperation so we think they may slow down and take it easy with his recovery.

They did pull his chest tube which tells Ashley and I that the concern for fluid buildup in his chest isn't there anymore.  They have kept all other access in place (central line, two IV's and his pic line/catheter).  They placed him back on a small dose of epinephrine to help give his heart a little push.  He is currently pretty "dry" so they will slowly increase his fluids as well.  The challenge still is flow to his lungs.  His pulmonary stenosis does complicate this already complicated procedure a lot.  The hope is that the band being a little loose right now will work with the pulmonary stenosis and balance his blood flow to his lungs, but only time (really a couple weeks) will tell, and unfortunately it is extremely difficult to know either way while he is sedated and intubated.

Please keep up the prayers!  He is a trooper and he has a TON of attention here.  The teams are very attentive to his care (not a surprise) but we can tell they are not 100% certain that we are through the woods yet.  It's impossible to know right now so we will continue to be patient and know that he is in God's big and loving hands!

Enjoying the journey,
George, Ashley, Maddie, Lyla and Landen
